Hi. Any user who comes here should be able to see common [[mediawiki:sidebar]] links like [[special:RecentChanges]] and [[Special:NewPages]] in the language that they set in their preferences, not those overwritten by language, see [[mw:Manual:Interface/Sidebar]]. They should not have to struggle to find these in the sidebar. As Wikimedia has their default implementation messages and the old settings from 2014 and earlier are from a previous wiki lifetime, redundant and should preferably be deleted.
