Ularning taʼsiri, dunyoning boshqa tarixiy anʼanalari bilan birgalikda tarix tabiatining asrlar osha oʻzgarib kelayotgan turli talqinlariga turtki berdi. Zamonaviy tarix fani mintaqa ([[Italiya tarixi]]), davr ([[Yangi tarix]]) yoki mavzuga ([[Ikkinchi jahon urushi]]) qarab koʻp sohalarga boʻlinadi.
