Agromyces — Actinomycetota boʻlimining (bakteriyalar) Microbacteriaceae oilasiga mansub boʻlgan bakteriyalar hisoblanadi. Agromyces asosan gram-musbat bakteriyalardan iborat boʻlib, ular quruqlikda yoki suvda, asosan ekin maydonlarda uchrashi mumkin. Ular inson hayot tarzi uchun katta iqtisodiy ahamiyatga ega, chunki qishloq xoʻjaligi va oʻrmonlar tuproq tizimlariga qoʻshgan hissalari juda koʻp omillarga bogʻliq. Tuproqda ular oʻlik organizmlarning organik moddalarini parchalashga yordam beradi, shuning uchun koʻpgina oʻsimliklar tomonidan mazkur bakteriya va ularning koʻpgina turlari ozuqa sifatida qabul qilinadi. Bu funksiyani zamburugʻlar ham oʻynasa-da, Agromyces va unga yondosh turlar ancha kichikroq va bir xil ekologik joyni egallamasligi, hamda, zamburugʻlarga nisbatan iqtisodiy ahamiyatga egaligi bilan ajralib turadi. Boshqa turlar, masalan, Mycobacterium turlarining koʻplab vakillari, muhim patogenlardir[1].

Agromyces turga oid nomining kelib chiqish sabablari quyidagilar: Yunoncha ot agros, dala yoki tuproq; Yangi yunoncha erkak turi otlari myces (yunoncha erkak jinsi mukēs — etis dan), qoʻziqorin; Yangi lotincha erkak jinsi Agromyces, tuproq qoʻziqorini[2].
