Object history
Deutsch: Fischerbach setzt sich zusammen aus dem eigentlichen Tal Fischerbach, dem im Kinzigtal gelegenen Dorf Weiler mit Eschau und dem Tal Waldstein, die im Verlauf des 16. Jahrhunderts unter unmittelbare fürstenbergische Herrschaft kamen. Spätestens seit dem Dreißigjährigen Krieg bildete das ganze Gebiet eine Gemeinde mit dem Verwaltungssitz in Weiler. Das Wappen wurde, nachdem es der Gemeinde schon 1903 vom Generallandesarchiv vorgeschlagen worden war, am 15. März 1961 vom Innenministerium verliehen. Der Wolkenbord erinnert an die einstige fürstenbergische Landesherrschaft. Er ist hier zur Vermeidung eines Farbverstoßes gegenüber dem fürstenbergischen Wappen umgekehrt tingiert. Die Fische stehen „redend" für den Ortsnamen. Das Siegel von „Vogt und Gerichtsstab Weiler" aus dem 18. Jahrhundert stand Pate für diese Motivwahl. Es zeigte in wolkenbordiertem Schild über einer Kirche (gemeint ist wohl die Pfarrkirche St. Michael in Weiler) zwei gekreuzte Fische.
