Deutsch: Das Rad ist vom Mainzer Rad abgeleitet und erinnert an die Zugehörigkeit von Weiler zu Kurmainz über viele Jahrhunderte. Die silberne Farbe der unteren Hälfte symbolisiert Wasser, als elementare Voraussetzung für eine Ansiedlung.

Die obere rote Fläche steht für das Land und die diagonal angelegte Teilschraffur symbolisiert den Himmel. Die Teilung und Inversion von Rad und Flächen stehen für viele territoriale Wechsel und der Lage von Weiler in einer Grenzregion. Dem Künstler Closs gelang es dennoch, auch ein verbindendes Element der geteilten Flächen darzustellen. Bei genauerer Betrachtung erkennt man durch kräuselndes, bewegtes Wasser eine Drehung des Rades im Uhrzeigersinn.

Die Darstellung des Wappens von Weiler hat sich im Laufe der Zeit zu einer abstrahierten (vereinfachten) Form des ursprünglichen Originals gewandelt.
