Hayoti
tahrirAmr ibn Huraysning otasi Hurays ibn Amr ibn Usmon ibn Abdulloh ibn Umar ibn Maxzum Makkaning Quraysh qabilasi Banu Maxzum urugʻiga mansub boʻlgan[1]. U Iroqning Kufa shahridagi arab garnizoni va maʼmuriy markazidagi eng boy shaxsga aylangan[2]. 670-yilda xalifa Muoviya I tomonidan Kufa hokimligi Ziyod ibn Abihiyning hokimligiga qoʻshilganida va Ziyod ibn Abihiy butun Iroqning hokimi etib tayinlanganida, Amr ibn Hurays Kufa hokimi oʻrinbosari sifatida xizmat qilgan[3][4]. 673-yilda Ziyod ibn Abihiy vafot etganidan keyin uning oʻgʻli va oxirgi vorisi Ubaydulloh 675-yilda hokimiyatni egallagunga qadar Amr ibn Hurays oʻrinbosarlik lavozimini davom ettirgan. Ibn Ziyod uni oʻzining shurtasiga (xavfsizlik kuchlariga) boshliq qilib tayinlagan[3]. Xalifa Yazid I vafotidan keyin Ibn Ziyod Basradan quvilgach (h. 680–683), Amr ibn Hurays ham kufoniylar tomonidan lavozimidan ketkazilib, uning oʻrniga Amir ibn Mas’ud al-Jumahiyni tayinlangan[5]. Umaviylarning Iroqdagi hokimi Bishr ibn Marvon Amr ibn Huraysni 692–694-yillarda Kufada oʻzining noibi etib tayinlagan[3][6]. Ahmad ibn Hanbal Kufada Arafa kuni nishonlanadigan marosim aynan Amr ibn Hurays tomonidan oʻtkazilgan deya maʼlumot bergan, biroq ushbu marosim aslida Mus’ab ibn Zubayr tomonidan amalga oshirilgan[3].
