Tarix
tahrir„Shri-Lanka Matha“ ning kelib chiqishi haqida turli xil qarashlar mavjud. Eng keng tarqalgan fikr shundan iboratki, Shri-Lankalik bastakor Ananda Samarakoon hind bengal shoiri Rabindranath Tagoredan ilhomlangan va qoʻshiqning musiqasi va soʻzlarini yozgan[1][2][3][4]. Shuningdek, Tagore madhiyani yozgani haqida qarashlar mavjud[5][6][7][8]. Baʼzilar Tagore musiqani yozgan, Samarakoon esa qoʻshiq matnini yozgan deb taxmin qilishdi[9][10]. Tagore qoʻshiqni yaratishda bevosita ishtirok etganini hind Lipi Ghosh va Shri-Lankalik Sandagomi Koperaxeva kabi baʼzi tarixchilar inkor etishgan[11]. Samarakoon Santiniketandagi Visva-Bharati universitetida Tagorening shogirdi boʻlgan. Samarakoon Seylonga qaytgach, Galledagi Mahinda kollejida musiqadan dars berdi[12][13][14][15]. Oʻsha paytda „Namo Namo Mata“ nomi bilan tanilgan qoʻshiq birinchi marta Mahinda kolleji talabalari tomonidan kuylangan[16][17]. Kolombodagi Musay kolleji xori tomonidan ommaviy tadbirda kuylangandan soʻng, u Seylonda juda mashhur boʻlib, radioda keng tarqala boshlagan[18].
2020-yilda Shri Lanka hukumati Mustaqillik kunini nishonlashda milliy madhiyaning tamilcha versiyasidan foydalanishni to‘xtatdi. Biroq, mintaqaviy mustaqillik kunini nishonlash, jumladan, Tamil aholisi koʻp boʻlgan hududlarda hukumat ishtirokida ham Tamil, ham Sinhalada kuylashda davom etmoqda[19][20].
